School has started and Cooper has begun VPK (voluntary pre-kindergarden). Even though he's almost 5, he just missed the cut-off for kindergarden...which is probably better in the long run. He'll always be one of the older kids! His teacher seems fantastic and is already sending homework home with him! He's learning to write and we find it interesting because he can't decide which hand he likes using best. He favors his left hand, but seems to be able to do most things with both. I suppose he takes after his dad in being ambidextrous.
Parker is now attending pre-school 5 days a week. He's cried everyday for the past 3 months when we would drop him off, but would you believe it, yesterday there were finally zero tears! His teacher is awesome and Parker loves her (calls her ni-ni). The other day, his teacher said that after they came in from the playground, she overheard Parker saying to another kid "you didn't wash your hands". I guess they are supposed to do that after returning from the playground. Haha, so proud of him!
Cooper and Parker had a great end to their summer. Grammy and Geep invited us to join them in Vail, Colorado. The kids did amazing traveling (took 15 hours to get there) and they really enjoyed the cooler weather and all the awesome playgrounds. Oh and eating out at restaurants, which is shocking because they don't eat much!
Unfortunately, Parker broke his collarbone a few weeks ago. Actually Cooper did it (by accident), but he's now in a sling for 4-5 weeks until it heals. Poor guy, but he is so tough...you would never know it was broken. I'm sure with 2 boys, this is just the first of many broken bones.
