The kids ended the virtual school year, which was pretty uneventful. However, super proud of them both. Cooper got straight A's in 3rd grade and Parker received all A's and 2 B+'s for the year in 1st grade. Cooper's teacher recommended him for the gifted program and since testing didn't happen in the spring due to Covid, he will be taking the exam this week. Fingers crossed!
Summer is well underway and the kids are doing great! They spent the first few weeks riding bikes, playing on their new water slide (yes, 2nd one....1st one popped -- who knew you couldn't wrestle on it -- we did, but kids wouldn't believe us), going to the beach and lets not forget playing Roblox.
We recently got back from our annual trip to the mountains with my family. Our 12 hour travel day with masks went surprisingly well and the kids didn't complain at all. Even though many things were still shut down in Vail, we were able to still do white water rafting along the Colorado River (Cooper actually jumped into the 40 degree water), boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, pony rides and much more. The weather was perfect, however it did snow one morning! We are so grateful the trip worked out and appreciate the time we were able to spend with family. And we cannot thank Lynn and Gene enough for having Bear over. He enjoyed his vacation as well, maybe too much. I don't think he wanted to come home!
After returning from our fun time in Colorado, the kids participated in a neighborhood camp. They fought me on going, but were thankful they did. They had a blast! Now we anxiously await what the school year has in store for us!
