Fall has been fun, well most of it! The kids went through their 2nd major hurricane and this one was bad. When Hurricane Ian hit us, it was nearly a category 5 and the damage has been beyond what anyone could imagine. Fortunately we were fine. I was thankful my parents were able to help me secure the house since Bob was traveling for work. The boys spent most of 9/28/22 in the downstairs bath and we brought mattresses down and all slept in the living room for several days. We lost power for 2 days and water for 9. The kids ended up being off from school for 12 days, but will only have to make up 5 at the end of the year. And school was closed this past Thursday due to another Hurricane (Nicole).
In between all the weather events and school closures, the kids have been busy. Cooper tried out for his middle school soccer team and made the team. They had their first game this past week and he started at left forward and did awesome. They won 2 to 0. Off to a good start and he said that was the most fun soccer game he's ever played! He's also still progressing with guitar and has just started Cotillion (which I'll never hear the end of!), but hoping he gets a lot out of it.
Cooper just celebrated his 12th birthday with lots of parties! I took him and a few friends to Defy and dinner one night. The next night, he had a group of friends go out to Alva and spent the night. They had fun fishing, playing night tag, doing a bonfire and swimming. Oh and staying up till 4am!!! We also had a combined birthday party for Cooper and Parker with our neighbor friends at our house and also a family party at our house as well.
Parker just turned 10 yesterday! I cannot believe he's double digits now. We celebrated with a a few close friends out in Alva. I'm glad we were able to, as the weather cleared up nicely after Hurricane Nicole. The boys spent most of their time in the pool! Parker is taking golf lessons and has improved so much. He even won when my parents took him and his brother to Pop Stroke. He is also still doing Redline Athletics and is in great shape from that!
Halloween was a good diversion from all the events lately. Cooper was (well I'm not sure). But he had a cool light up mask and gloves. Parker was a grim reaper. Yikes!!! What happened to the cute costumes they used to want?! We had a neighborhood party that was a lot of fun (Cooper even got some volunteer hours in for school for helping set up). Then we trick or treated on Halloween with our neighbors.
Another good diversion was the kids fall break. This ended up being when school was closed due to the Hurricane. We had originally planned a trip to Orlando with another family and decided for the kids sanity, we'd still go! We spent a day at the hotel (Cabana Bay) and City Walk then a day at Volcano Bay, the water park. The kids had a blast at the water park!
Now bring on the holiday's!

Hi there! So glad you guys did not suffer more destruction than the loss of your favorite tree during hurricane Ian. Although I could tell the boys weren’t too excited about all the time they spent in the bathroom, I’d say you guys were very fortunate. Thanks for sharing all of the pictures. I can tell you guys have been keeping very busy. Looks like Volcano Bay is really a cool place.
